Facebook is finding that the economice climate is aiding their recruitment, according to its founder.
The recession has seen many workers laid off but social media site Facebook sees the downturn as an opportunity to grow, according its founder.
Mark Zuckerberg has said that he plans to expand his workforce by up to 50 per cent as the pool of talent available makes recruitment a lot easier in the current economic climate.
He made his comments in an interview with Bloomberg, where he said that he wanted his company's new headquarters in California to be like a "very large garage".
"No one else has been hiring. It's been a great environment for us because the economy has helped out," he said.
It was also made clear that he felt Facebook has a long future ahead of it, claiming that it was much nearer "the beginning than the end" of its lifetime.
The developer of the Facebook application for the iPhone, Joe Hewitt, has today criticised Apple for reviewing and rejecting too many applications for the device, rather than let it be open source as it was originally intended.
