Ensuring that you have a high PPC quality score can help a website in search rankings, here an industry commentator offers a strategy to achieve this.
A high pay per click (PPC) quality score has been recommended by an industry commentator, who has highlighted the importance of an effective keyword strategy to help achieve this.
In a post on his Econsultancy blog sector commentator Ed Stevenson recommended cutting out "irrelevant impressions that your keywords are exposed to" as a poor clickthrough Rate (CTR) can reduce your PPC quality score.
He suggested that your CTR may be suffering if people arrive at your site through keywords that have nothing to do with your business.
By checking which raw search queries send traffic to your website, you can see which keywords are irrelevant and then add them as negative keywords on your ad group.
Mr Stevenson wrote: "CTR is one of the most important factors contributing to your overall quality score." He also suggested reviewing which of your keywords are driving the most traffic and protecting them by moving other keywords into their own ad group.
Dynamic Logic recently claimed that the most successful type of adverts are rectangles or half banners which are integrated onto the webpage.
